Understanding Leather Grades
Not all leather is created equal. At Levívre, we source only the highest grade full-grain leather from Gold-rated tanneries. Unlike corrected-grain or bonded leather, full-grain retains the natural fiber structure, making it stronger, more breathable, and more beautiful with age.
The Tanning Process
We exclusively use vegetable tanning, a centuries-old process that uses natural tannins from tree bark and plant extracts. This takes 4-6 weeks versus the 2-day chrome tanning process used by mass manufacturers. The result is leather that develops a rich patina over time.
